Review of AutumnGrove

Autumn Grove Cottage – Champions is a wonderful place for our mother to receive the care and compassion she needs on her Alzheimer’s journey. We had initially moved her into a different “memory care” facility, but it became apparent that the care and oversight Mom needed could not be met there, so we had to begin the search all over again. The moment we walked into Autumn Grove Cottage – Champions, we felt it was the place for Mom – warm, inviting, calm, clean, and very “homey”. The open plan makes it easier for the staff to interact with the residents and make sure they are safe. It is so much quieter there than any other facility we visited – an important attribute for Mom, and for us. The staff is warm, caring, knowledgeable, and steadfast. Turnover is almost non-existent. That one factor alone speaks volumes as to the company, the management, and the staff. Our family has much greater peace of mind with Mom being a loved one at Autumn Grove Cottage – Champions.

Great Care

I wish I had known about AutumnGrove when I was choosing care for my parents before they passed. I volunteer at the Champions cottage from time to time and wanted to pass on my thoughts. The cottage is a warm home setting with caregivers who care. Low turnover makes all the difference. Some of the ladies have been there since the place opened. From what I have seen the menu seems pretty variable and the ladies who cook try to add their special touch. I know they strive to meet the preferences of residents who are a bit more picky. The manager is a LVN and she seems to take an active interest in the health of residents. Big plus in my book. I would have liked to have someone keeping an eye on my parents to catch health issues with my early on instead of having to be the one to push it with the nurses and doctors after the fact. Another review mentioned high price which I can't speak to but a key thing to look at is the price all in for everything or is there a base price with add-ons as care level increases? Bottom line if my parents were still alive and needed this type of care this place would be on top of my list.

Wonderful Experience

I would recommend this facility for your parents, grandparents, spouse, or even your closest friend. They are very clean and well managed, but most importantly, they care about their residents. Doris is always there to help not only the residents, but also help the family and friends and ease your mind when it comes to having to make one of the hardest decisions in your life.

Great Community!!

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided me with all the necessary information about the community. I felt it was clean and the staff seemed nice. They offered meals and activities on site for the residents. Some of the staff included nurses on site and doctors on call. I would recommend a tour of the community to friends and family.

The staff are very knowledgeable and well trained!!

I would recommend AutumnGrove Cottage in Pearland to family and friends. They do not offer a ton of activities but they do have volunteers come in every afternoon to interact with the residents. The food is excellent and the residents are able to help prepare some of it if they would like. There is a lot of staff consistency.

Just Like Home

Mother lived at home for several years after Daddy died. Things got to be too much for her so she sold their home place and moved to independent living. After she was diagnosed with COPD we moved her to assisted living at the same facility. Then came another hospitalization and skilled nursing and rehab. We didn't know where to go next. We finally found a "home" for Mother. Autumn Grove Cottage is like one big family and offers competent, loving care. We truly feel like God led us here.

Windhaven-The Closest Place to Home

The community is close knit and has a cottage feel. Almost everything is brought to our loved one, this is a huge plus for us and our loved one. The community recently changed hands. We are hopeful the same consistency will continue with the new company. The food could be improved by offering pre-ordered option, or options for choices for the residents.

My review of Autumn Grove Copperfield Cottage - Andrea Carr

Our family first had a virtual tour due to the covid restrictions, but once the communities opened back up we were able to physically tour the community. Our tour experience was great, everyone was very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. However, we did notice there were not to many care takers on the floor and maybe they were short staff from the pandemic.

I would recommend

We chose this because I was looking for a memory care facility that was close to my house and Windhaven fit the bill. The rooms here are private, her room has a tv and bathroom and is adequate size, it is like a studio apartment without the kitchen. You do have to supply the furniture for the rooms. The meals here are chef prepared so I would assume they are good. I would recommend to others looking.
