I love the residents. The rent is reasonable. The food is only about 75% edible. The staff cares about the residents and are always willing to talk to them.

A relaxed friendly atmosphere. Good food. Plenty of activities.

I walked into the building 8 1/2 years ago and I felt at home here and I still do. There are a lot of things to do – games, exercises, trips and etc.

I love living at this independent community! The management is very businesslike but are in good touch with the residents. The meals are good and we have a lot of activities that we all enjoyed. Thank you.

My mom is in this community and it is nice, The staff is wonderful and very helpful. She has a cute studio apartment and housekeeping will do daily tidy ups and then will clean 1x a week and will do her laundry and linens. She likes the food you order from a menu and they have lots of options. The outside area is nice in the front and I'll take mom on a walk around the building but that is where everyone smokes. I would recommend this place.

Facility does offer respite care. Require doctor's authorization prior to setting a date range for the care. Cost is reasonable.

Assisted living area very nice. Memory care unit not great, although the shared rooms are the best I have seen with a jack and jill bathroom dividing the space giving privacy. Pricing was a bit too high for me.

This is a nice clean community. The way it is built this community looks more like a hospital building. The staff I met during my tour were nice.

It seem like this is where my parents need to be. My mom has made more progress and it was an easy move-in for my dad. They have 24-hour care and a hospital is down the street. The staff are nice,helpful, and cheery. My mom would love more trained nurses and experienced assistants. At times she says she has to wait for help but for the most part they are prompt. A few times, the entertainment did not show up and the movie night did not happen. They were disappointed to see the activity calendar but at times they did nothing.

This is a nice community. The staff was wonderful and caring. his room. the food seemed to be good. They have activties that are offered to everyone if wanting to participate. I would recommend this for good care. We were happy with Edna and Tericita and Redmond, Joe. They were exceptional caregivers for my father.

My Mother in law did well with her stay at Brookdale Vacaville. We worked with Joe and Aida and they were wonderful. They gave her great care while she was there. She liked the food and they keep the community clean. She was in the memory care unit before she went home.

The only small issue I had with Brookdale Vacaville is that they did not have much of an orientation on the first day. Mom likes the healthy food they have. They offer various activities and she does participate in some. The community is kept clean and the staff are very attentive.

My Grandmother has been at Brookdale for some time now and things have gone much better than I though t it would go. She is enjoying the church services with her new found friends and even plays volley ball along with many other activities. One thing that is certainly concerning is the cost of the community although I know they are taking very good care of her. The staff are all very nice and friendly. The place is always clean. I'd recommend!

Some mis communications in care expected. Other wise pleased with facility and overall stay.

Things are going really well at Brookdale Bakersfield. The staff are really good. There is nurse is there and they are taking care of mom really well. They take care of the medication she needs and are very helpful and attentive. Mom had to go to the emergency room recently and the staff checked on her quite a bit. I am really happy with this facility.

My mother was very angry and apprehensive with the idea that my sisters and I wanted to move her to assisted living seven months after our father had died. Our mother needs 24/7 care because of serious memory issues. Out of the three of us sisters, only one of us could stay with her the majority of the time and this sister was getting extremely burnt out. After visiting Brookdale Bakersfield several times with mom at our side, she started softening about the idea of moving. Everyone, from the director to the staff, were so friendly and made mom feel so at home and welcomed. It is a beautiful facility with so much to do on a daily basis and they allow pets which was a real plus for her. She was very impressed and actually became excited to make the change. She has been there a week now. There is only one thing that concerns us and maybe its because she is still new. They have forgotten to come to her room a few times to take her to dinner. She doesn't have the memory to take herself. We are talking to the staff regarding this issue and are hoping it is just a small glitch and will get resolved quickly. Other than this one issue, we are very happy and excited that our mother can live out her last years peacefully in a clean, caring and safe environment. Thank you "A Place For Mom" for helping us find 'a place for mom'.

One area where the could improve would be to communicate with the families a little better during the move in process. It was easy to get a hold of them when we were checking them out, but not as much once we signed up and moved in. Other than that everything was pretty good and we have generally been well pleased with Brookdale Bakersfield.

The marketing director at Brookdale Vacaville was really fantastic. She was very friendly and very enthusiastic. When my mother in law went in there, it was a bit scary for her. I do think that they could have given her a little more attention and helped ease her in a little better. That is my only suggestion. On the whole everything about them has been really great and I am thankful for them.

Overall Brookdale Bakersfield is pretty good. My mother does complain a little bit about the food there. They have had a little bit of a turnover with staff recently with a new director, so I am hoping there will be some changes in the quality of the food they provide at their meals. We are also trying to work out a few kinks with the billing. Other than that everything is great. All the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and mom has really got in well with the other residents.

I am not in state so I don't have a lot of experience with it. They seem to be doing a very good job, from what my loved one tells me. There really haven't been any complaints, and everything has gone as expected. Which is what we would hope. We are pretty pleased so far.
