Tour of Lorelton

Lorelton is a very nice facility. We have a loved one who lived here and our only issue was the parking. We also felt the security was not the best.

Memory Care

Since my aunt has been a resident in the memory care unit, all I can say is the staff is very nurturing. I had my self doubt about putting her in a facility, thinking I could still manage her care by myself. Since her time there , these past few months has truly helped her feel safe and secure. She loves the staff and the new friends she has made under their care. No more worrying about her wandering at night, stairs in my house that she may fall or answering the door, if I’m not home. The Lorelton has given her a safe haven to live her life, interacting with others every day.

Lorelton is a special place.

My brother Tom left his home at age 79 after a six month series of hospitalizations and rehabilitations. He took one look at Lorelton and knew the 1930’s Lore School infrastructure was beyond anything he had seen at other community and would uniquely define his new permanent home. When he has an issue, he can walk from his apartment to speak to someone who can fix it. He has interacted regularly with the Director, the Business Manager, the Chief Nurse, the Chief Chef, and the Chief Phone Lady. They all know Tom. They care about him, and each helps him whenever he is in a tough spot. What stands out as he roams about Lorelton is that he encounters lots of staff and lots of residents who are out and about in the hallways, doing stuff Lorelton’s strength is that they are one of a kind. Singular, and in charge. For the good of their residents.

Excellent Care

I am POA for a gentleman who needs special care and resides in Lore Village at The Lorelton. The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and caring. The facility itself is very clean and has a very homey feel. The Lorelton has had an excellent record during the height of the pandemic and always put the residents first.

Pleasantly Surprised

I know the owner of The Lorelton and was hired to install brass railings. I was pleasantly surprised that the building was so well kept for being so old and historic. The staff and residents were all friendly. What a great idea to repurpose a school into a place for the elderly.

A Comfortable Place with a Home-Like Atmosphere

My mother has lived at the Lorelton for nearly seven years. I am most impressed because staff members not only know my mother very well, but many also recognize me. They keep me informed about any medical issues that arise. They have always been willing to talk to and meet with me when I've had questions. Mom has a comfortable apartment. She's made friends. She enjoys going to the movies and attending the musical performances by outside groups. The Lorelton offers many other activities, too, including crafts, exercise classes, and games. I think staff members do their best to make the Lorelton a comfortable place with a home-like atmosphere.

Living at the Lorelton

In July 2015, on the advice of doctors, I moved to the Lorelton, “before I needed to come”. The doctors said that it is better to move while one is still able to make an independent decision. I have been happy here. My room, though the smallest available, at my choice, is cozy and welcoming. The staff could not be nicer to me and the residents are pleasant. The food is nutritious, plentiful, and there are always choices. The Lorelton was a good choice for me.

Thank You

Thank you all so much for caring for my Mom for the last six years, and my Dad for the short time he was with you. Knowing they were safe & not alone took a huge weight from me. Mom was quite a character, & I imagine you all have stories to tell! I am so very grateful that you took her into your hearts and enabled her to be less lonely, especially during the pandemic. As I have been around the building lately, so many of you have spoken to me with kind words of comfort & lovely memories of Mom. Again, many thanks.

Not a good experience

I would want others to know that you have to keep constant communication with the staff members to get real honest answers and results about what the care is and what your loved one is really going through. There is very limited communication between staff and family and there has also been miscommunication and lies as well. Overall, it has not been a good experience and I would not recommend them.

Response from Lorelton

March 3, 2021

We are very sorry to hear that Mark. I would love for you to give me (Jen) a call to learn more about what it is that you're unhappy about. We talk about your loved one in our morning meeting daily so I'd like to hear your concerns.
