A breath of fresh air
Deb S - Child of resident/client
My mother has been at Woodbridge Place for 3 years. We have had ups and downs throughout that period, but the new leadership team is second to none. The young lady at the front desk is friendly and helpful.
Woodbridge has a whole different feel. [name removed] is attentive and returns calls promptly. The new nursing manager is knowledgeable and very calming. It’s so nice to know my mom is able to be out of her room and enjoying musical entertainment, bingo and other happenings with the activity people.
I can only hope Mom is around for a number of years to fully experience and take advantage of all the positive things going on.
I can sleep more peacefully knowing things Re on the right track.
Downhill since Woodbine bought it

This place went from and 'A' rating (during Atria tenure) to a 'C-' rating. Problems include lack of staff retention, food quality and options, amount of social activities, social activities boil down to watching movies, lack of exercise, change in accounting procedures, friendliness of management, lack of trips, minimal staffing so as to create extended waits for help, lack of communication with families.
Do not bring your loved one to Woodbridge Place.

Woodbridge Place was not perfect but the staff really loved and cared for my mother and all the residents as if they were their own. These past 4 months have been horrible. Woodbridge has had two Executive Directors since the previous one left early this year and both have been horrible. The staff is working short and our loved ones is not being cared for as they should... showers are not being completed due to the lack of staff, medications are not be giving on time and the rooms are a mess. I walked into the memory care unit and found one care staff on several visits which is unexpectable. Who ever is overseeing this community needs to be fired. Not only that , all the previous managers left because they couldn't sit back and watch what was happening to this place. I will say the previous managers was kind and loving. You used to get a warm and happy feeling when you walked in the door its been awful. I will be moving my loved out of Woodbridge Place next month!
My Review of Woodbridge Place Senior Living
Anonymous - Resident/client
Food is not appealing-not much taste- 1 or 2 a week. Is senior living but 85% in wheelchairs or bed-ridden on admittance.
Highly recommend Sam - Spouse or partner of resident/client
I love Woodbridge Place, they were marvelous. My wife was here a short time but they were very attentive and great with her. They were compassionate to my daughter and I as well and they let us come visit whenever we wanted to. The facility is very nice and clean and it is well kept. I have recommended them to several people already, we were so pleased.

You continuously need to advocate for your parent. The communication is not as strong as it should be between staff and family. [name removed] is terrific she is in charge of activities and she is very accommodating to the likes and dislikes of residents . Housekeeping could do a more thorough job with overall cleanliness of the rooms.
Woodbridge has great potential but unfortunately, they take themselves for an independent living facility rather than assisted living. Watch for routine "upping" of care levels with hefty cost increases and no additional care. A few mature aides and medical technicians and other staff display the knowledge and temperament to interact with the elderly and are wonderful. Sadly, there are also immature individuals on staff who lack adequate training or do not have the temperament for a caregiving role. Imagine overhearing an aide say to your aged parent who has requested assistance to stand "NO...I'M NOT DOING THAT. YOU'LL HAVE TO TRY HARDER!!" I cannot recommend Woodbridge at this time. There is a critical need for staff training and in-services, including communicating with the elderly, which may bring the "tender and loving" part of TLC back to this facility.

The community did not have the proper facilities to properly take care of her. They would just send my loved one to the hospital and then would not accept her back. They continued to charge us for rent even though she was not here but would not provide her things back to us. I would not recommend this community to others.
Response from Woodbridge Place Senior LivingAugust 13, 2021
Our mission is to provide the best quality of life for the seniors we serve as well as follow our philosophy of aging in place. Unfortunately, there are times when our residents need medical interventions that cannot be provided in our community due to regulatory guidance. We certainly understand and empathize with our families when, by medical direction, a resident is not able to return to our community due to the amount of care recommended by a physician. Our team of professionals are always available to listen to our families and resolve any issues or concerns.

Pertaining to monthly payments. Pay by check. Do not allow automatic monthly withdrawals. I don't think they are trustworthy with your loved ones money.
A wonderful experience anonymous - Child of resident/client
Our experience has been wonderful, and during the pandemic we were not able to see our loved one so we relied heavily on their communication which they did a great job with. When our loved one was passing away, they helped our family through the hospice experience which they were wonderful. It is a very nice place, our only issues was with the financial department. We know they were probably impacted with covid and being overwhelmed, but other than that it was a very nice place and we had no complaints.
My review of Woodbridge Place Senior Living Deb - Child of resident/client
The assisted living side and the care takers and help our loved one has been getting from certain individuals has been great. However when it comes to the administrative end it is a lot of the right hand not know what the left hand is doing and covid has impacted the community. Our loved one was at the community first for recovery with rehab and unfortunately we just have not really seen any changes, so were not sure if she is getting exactly what we expected. It is a beautiful place, it is like a resort and our loved ones room is always very clean and the staff members are all friendly.

We chose Woodbridge Place because we had seen it before years ago and we were pleased. The concierge service really seems to be on the ball especially when I have called with questions.
Nice looking from the outside anonymous - Child of resident/client
I chose Woodbridge Place because it had good ratings from what I found online as well as the location for the family. The room sizes here are adequate for her needs. They seem to be very friendly, but I have not had much interaction since we are not allowed in. Overall, it seems to be a nice place.
We were very pleased with my husband being there anonymous - Spouse or partner of resident/client
They did offer a lot of activities, but due to covid they were pretty limited.

My mother lived at Woodbridge Place for 4 years, mostly in the memory care wing. Shortly after she arrived there in 2016, it was bought by another company and it went downhill after that. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Woodbridge place for memory care, Even though there were some well-intentioned management and employees, the overall management , care and communication was bad. We were constantly having to advocate for mom and often not getting the results we hoped for. One of the biggest problems was that there was never a designated director for the memory care wing, although they kept saying they would get one. No-one seemed to communicate with each other, which is so important when dealing with residents who cannot communicate well for themselves! Overall, very frustrating experience but we still felt it would be more traumatic to move mom so we stuck with it. She passed away on [date removed] on hospice care there. Again, I would not recommend Woodbridge Place for memory care.

We chose this facility at the time because she was not happy at her previous facility, we were looking for a better alternative for her and we chose Woodbridge because it seemed to have what we were looking for. The room sizes here are generous. I would tell others that some things like the food is not very good. The preparation and variety could be improved. Overall, I would still recommend to others looking.

My husband has lived in this community for a month and I couldn't be more pleased with the care he is receiving there. The staff is kind, well trained, and responsive. I am especially pleased with the handling of Covid-19. There have been zero cases to date.

Based on the tour this community was pretty clean, we haven't been able to go back and visit since COVID started. The staff members were very friendly when we were on that tour, however we had gotten feedback from our mother recently letting us know that the staff needs to be reminded quite a bit about our loved ones limitations.
On that tour our family felt very comfortable and we really liked how they had a resident dog there. They offer a variety of room options to choose from, and from our understanding our loved one has a nice size room.
Good Community for Your Value Charlie - Loved one of resident/client
They had a weekly calendar for activities for the residents to partake in. I would recommend this community. My family and I toured a lot of communities, they were all nice.
What made me decide on this community was the room cost was lower than others in the area, and no annual rate increase when my loved one was there. There was no increase if my loved one needed more memory care.
A Daughter’s Opinion

Due to COVID-19, I am unable to give an accurate opinion for cleanliness. The only thing I know for sure is our mother was happy, well cared for, enjoyed the activities, was very well taken care of. That is all we wanted for our mother!!
