The casual and friendly atmosphere matches how she lived in her prior home of 20 years making the transition to independent living easier. The staff are accommodating and kind. She is still mentally and physically active and what the Villages at Tanglewood do not provide, the YMCA across the street does. When my husband and I visit from Austin, we actually stay on site in one of the apartments reserved for family guests. The food is so good, we happily eat in the restaurant where the wait staff are attentive and friendly. We were very impressed with everything. We picked this community because, of the cleanliness, it was friendly, and a beautiful place. It is in a neighborhood so it is not as sterile feeling as some of the other places that we looked into/ The location is great and around a lot of things. It just looked like a place that would fit her needs perfect. She is in a great area to walk her dog, there is a park right across the park and it is very safe. We are very pleased with the experience. She has a washer and dryer in her apartment and they come in weekly to clean. They have great activities provided for the residents as well and do a lot of outings.
