Our experience anonymous - Friend of resident/client
We chose Sonota at Coconut Creek because of the convenience of my friends family to that location. She was also able to get her own room and bathroom which was important. I think the meals are chef prepared, she doesn't complain about that at all. When we first checked this facility out there was some misinformation about the insurance and a few things came up so we had to make some different adjustments.
Do not recommend, horrible experience Leslie A - Child of resident/client
The nursing care at Sonata at Coconut Creek sucks and they do not care about the residents at all. I would never recommend them to others looking for memory care, it was a horrible experience.

Pleased with our experience anonymous - Child of resident/client
Sonata at Coconut Creek stood out to us because the rooms are bigger than another one we looked into, it was super clean, and it just looked really warm and inviting when you walk into the lobby area, it also smelled great. If my mom ever needs anything, they are right there to help her. She speaks mainly Spanish and they have a lot staff members that are bi-lingual which is great. I would recommend to others looking.
Our Tour Experience Juan - Toured community
The person that I was supposed to see for the tour wasn’t there that day. So someone else assisted me. The tour was good overall. They answered all of my questions. Their facility set-up was a little different. The living areas were more open. As far as I could tell, they didn’t have bedroom doors that lock, so the residents could amble in and out.
We Don't Suggest Sonata Anonymous - Friend of resident/client
I would tell others that the way the place gets managed is okay. The rest of the community and staff isn't as good. The lady at the front desk is charming. The manager is fine. The caregivers weren't good to work with.
Yucky, do not go here anonymous - Child of resident/client
I would want others to know that my mother was here for 2 months before we pulled her out. She was not getting her medications properly no matter how many times we spoke to them about it. The dosages and timing were always wrong or they just did not give it to her. The food was not good at all, they served the same things all the time so my mom was not eating and we had to bring her food. They were all processed meals and very poor quality. We also learned after she got here that they only make a meal once a day for lunch, and then dinner everyone is brought a sandwich to their room. It is a pretty facility that is very clean, but unless you can take care of yourself, I would not recommend.

Prior to COVID they had weekly cocktail hour, pet therapy, bingo, as well as puzzles. They had religious services and entertainments groupd, they also had special holiday parties. The food at this community was usually okay sometimes it was a hit or miss. Sonata community has very inviting feeling to it, the rooms are very comfortable. It was a very modern look to it, very bright, as well as pretty decor.

The staff is very friendly. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they have been sending us newsletters regularly about what they are doing and planning for the residents and their safety. The price at Sonata At Coconut Creek is a bit high. It is a pretty nice place and I have no complaints.
Good place for mom or dad

Mom has been at Sonata for almost 2 years. I live nearby so I'm always popping in to visit. The entire staff and management are always attentive and personal. I truly believe that they ALL care about the residents. The campus is lovely and well maintained. The floor plan is bright and open. Activities are stimulating and varied. I am comfortable knowing that my mom is in good hands. I strongly recommend Sonata Coconut Creek
The 1st time I went in I could not believe it was a nursing home.It was so clean and everyone from house keeping to the people in the Dining room to the everyone working with the seniors were so happy and friendly.I would be Blessed to be in a place like this in my future.
Great Memory Care Unit

I would highly rate Sonata at Coconut Creek. My loved one is in te memory care unit and receives excellent care. It begins with the director Hillary Newell who takes a hands on approach to all the residents. She analyzes the wants and needs and most importantly their personalities of each individual. She treats each person with TLC. Her staff has learned to be kind and caring as a result of Hillary's influence and training. In addition, the food, programs and general all around care is very, very good.

Just moved my mom there 3 months ago. She likes it a lot. I was hoping there were more intellectual activities. A bit difficult to understand the doctor communication. I will figure it out.

Sonata a place not for mom

The tour they gave was great. But it is just a sales pitch. They don't take care of the residents. After 10 days I removed my mom from that awful place. On the 5th day, they first came to give my mom her 9:30 blood pressure meds. Too late her blood pressure was over 200 and she had hit the floor.
AVOID at all costs

AVOID THIS PLACE
They are mismanaged, understaffed causing the residents to suffer. Seek other arrangements. The pictures devoid of residents are inaccurate. Costs go up, care goes down. Our list of complaints is long, we are seeking an alternative to this nightmare. Do NOT place your loved one here.
Sonata at Coconut Creek has been a blessing.

We consider it a blessing that we found Sonata at Coconut Creek as a place for my mother to live. The executive director communicates with us regularly about how my mother is doing and we receives regular calls from the nursing staff letting us know about her health. She has benefitted from help from the Physical Therapy Department and has spoken positively about their staff.
The facility itself is cheerful and beautifully decorated. My mother lives in a spacious and comfortable studio apartment that fits her needs. She enjoys the daily activities and socializing with the other residents and can also have quiet time alone if she desires.
A van is available to take her to doctors’ appointments or shopping if she desires.
I can recommend Sonata at Coconut Creek with the greatest confidence for your family member.
anonymous - Toured community
My husband and I are searching for a place for my mom who has dementia so we toured this yesterday. We toured most of the facility and found it to be clean and the staff was very friendly. Residents appeared to be happy. We saw a shared room in memory care area which was very large with 2 full or queen sized beds and 2 dressers and a TV. I would have preferred that they would have their own private space. It was more expensive than the other places but our guide thought it included everything she needed. One thing I really liked is they only have 18 residents in memory care and 3-4 aides for all of them so they have more individualized attention. However, there are no openings at this time and it’s a little further from my home than I would like it to be.
A Few Improvements Needed, but Overall Mom is Well anonymous - Loved one of resident/client
For the most part my mother is doing well since her move to this community. There are a few things that can be done better, but overall she is being provided with good care. They have a nice staff, and they are treating her very well. She is enjoying her room. The staff is caring, and patient. I'am comfortable with the care she is receiving in this community.
